Forge Project Launches 2025 Year-End Campaign

Dec 10, 2025
There has never been a more important time to support Native leaders and there has never been a more important time to create larger platforms and stronger foundations for Native voices. Forge Project is asking our supporters to help us #BuildNativeFutures and help us realize a $3.5M gift match that ends in January 2026.

At a time when many of our colleagues and partners have lost funding or jobs and with a widespread Federal de-investment in Native organizations, communities and tribes, Forge is prioritizing the sharing of our resources and deepening our relationships as an act of solidarity. Forge’s (re)worlding—that is, the remaking of the world (including the art world) according to Indigenous values and practices—includes systems and processes for mobilizing resources with intention.
From the outset, Forge was designed to be a changemaker in the field of art and culture, and we have done just that.
We set ambitious sustainability goals, and with your support, we met them in just one year, while developing relations that counter the often transactional expectations that can accompany fundraising.
As part of this work, we shared that we would develop non-colonial models of relationality. We established a radical governance model and are entering into the second iteration of our Memorandum of Understanding with the Stockbridge-Munsee Community of Mohican Indians, to further formalize our work in benefit of the community as part of our responsibility as our organization is on their ancestral homelands.
We said we would create programs that reflected the multidisciplinarity of Native arts and culture practitioners, and we have deepened our cross-departmental practice in all of our five areas in which we work: Fellowships, Land, Public and Relational Programs, Collections, and Editorial.
Support Forge’s work by donating to our end-of-year campaign: BUILD NATIVE FUTURES.

This campaign will help secure the sustainability of the organization and expand our capacity to redistribute wealth by putting financial resources directly into the hands of Indigenous artists and culture workers.
A gift of any size will Build Native Futures, redress historical exclusion of Indigenous voices, and change the landscape of art and culture!
Forge invites you to deepen your connection to our work by attending our public programs, reading Forging journal, signing up for our newsletter, following us on social media, and viewing our collection online.
